Volvo Airbag Recall

There's a new recall on Volvo airbags, and it affects almost 260,000 cars in the U.volvo airbag S., including the V70 and XC70 wagons. If your airbags have failed to deploy, a metal fragment could be launched toward the occupants. The faulty airbags have caused at least one person's death. In light of the risk, you should have your car inspected as soon as possible.

Regardless of age, there's still a chance that your Volvo airbags could fail due to a defective inflator. These deteriorated airbags are extremely dangerous, and Volvo is making an effort to replace them. The company will replace the airbags for free, so you can get the peace of mind you need. Volvo dealers will replace your airbag free of charge. This is the biggest automaker recall in history.

Another common cause is a faulty sensor. The faulty sensor may fail to properly deploy the airbags. This can result in a crash that is not severe enough for the airbags to deploy. The Volvo airbag warning light should turn on when this happens. If it stays on, it is time to call a mechanic. The service department will check your airbag system to see if it needs replacing. If you don't have time to do this yourself, you should take your car to a dealer to have it fixed.

Since the recall started, Volvo has added nearly 195,000 more vehicles to its list. The recall is related to the driver-side airbag inflator. Inflators can degrade over time if they are exposed to high temperatures and humidity. As a result, they can explode without warning, resulting in hot shrapnel flying into the cabin. The problem affects the S80 and XC70 sedans from 2001 to 2007 as well as certain models of the C70 and V60. Similar recalls have been made for other models of the Volvo brand.

The faulty airbags in the Volvo vehicles are causing at least one death. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), defective airbags can rupture during a car accident and send metal or plastic shrapnel toward the occupants of the vehicle. In addition to these defects, a faulty airbag can also cause an over-inflated driver's side airbag inflator during deployment. The faulty airbag is linked to degraded propellants after prolonged exposure to high temperatures and humidity.
