Air Suspension Valve Manifold Leaks

A small but significant component of air suspension, the valve block is an important part of a system that shouldn’t be overlooked.valve block air suspension When symptoms seem to point to a leak in an air spring, it may be that the problem is actually in the valve block, or at least the air line connected to it.

As the central component that controls all of your air suspension’s solenoid valves, the valve block is a major contributor to the precise way in which your vehicle rides and handles.valve block air suspension When it starts to wear down, however, the results can be dramatic. Here are a few reasons why your air suspension might be acting up, and why the culprit might be the valve block.

Generally speaking, the valve block is where most of the air pressure in your system originates and ends. It’s where the air from the compressor connects to your air struts, and it’s also where the air pressure for each individual air suspension strut is controlled by the solenoid valves.

The primary function of the valve block is to distribute the air from the air compressor to the air struts and then back again to the compressor once each air suspension strut is filled. In this way, the air suspension is precisely controlled to maintain your desired ride height.

Over time, the seals and gaskets on the valve block can start to wear down, which allows small particles into the airflow and interferes with the proper operation of the solenoid valves. The problem can be compounded if these particles get into the air compressor itself, which could burn out that valuable piece of equipment.

While an air suspension valve block may not be as expensive as a rebuilt or replacement compressor, it can still be quite costly to replace if it starts to go bad. As such, it’s a worthwhile investment to have the right components in your system. Thankfully, Arnott has developed high-quality, OE-style air suspension valve blocks that offer the perfect fit and function for your ride.

Currently, the company has released new valve blocks for Audi, Jeep and Mercedes-Benz applications including their VB-3491 for 2012-2018 A6 and A7 (C5 chassis); VB-3265 for 01-05 Allroad Quattro, 05-11 A6 and S6 (C6 chassis) and 04-10 A8 and S8 (D3 chassis) along with VB-3267 for the 11-18 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2 chassis), 07-18 ML-Class (X164/166 chassis) and 09-14 R-Class (W251 chassis) 4MATIC and AMG models. Each of these new air suspension valve blocks is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty in North America and Europe.
